ChargePoint Senior Team attend First Aid training for Mental Health
Following on from 'Mental Health Awareness Week' last month, the discussion about Mental Health in the workplace has become an important topic to many, with the recommendation in place than an organisation should now have a similar number of mental health aiders to their medical first aiders.
As part of improving how mental health in the workplace is dealt with and understood, members of the senior and HR team at ChargePoint have recently attended the Adult Mental Health First Aid Course, developed by MHFA.
Chris Eccles, CEO at ChargePoint commented on attending the course, "Having the opportunity to attend a course on Mental Health First Aid is beneficial to the company and all of our employees. This means we have the skills and knowledge in house to look after our staff physically and mentally, and ensure their wellbeing is always paramount to ChargePoint. Anxiety or depression is experienced by 1 in 6 adults every week and knowing that there is someone to talk to at the place where you come to work every day will hopefully be a comfort to our current and future employees."
The course has provided the team with the skills and knowledge to look out for depression in the workplace, a deeper understanding of what mental health is and how to recognise the signs and symptoms of employees who may need support. The course also provides first aid for depression, and treatment and resources for anxiety disorders and psychosis.
