ChargePoint Privacy Policy

ChargePoint takes your privacy seriously. Your personal information will not be sold or otherwise distributed to third parties without your consent. ChargePoint is not a source of unsolicited email.

What Our Privacy Policy Covers

This policy covers what personal information ChargePoint collects, how that information is collected and why we need it. Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable like your name, address, email address, or phone number, and that is not otherwise publicly available. This policy does not cover the practices of companies other than ChargePoint or people who are not employed or managed by ChargePoint. Third party sites provide the products and services listed on ChargePoint and these sites have their own privacy statements and are not covered by this policy.

Google Analytics

When you visit www.thechargepoint.com we use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Website Cookies

Cookies are a standard Internet technology, and many major web sites use them to provide useful features for their members. Cookies allow us to store and retrieve login and other information on a user's system. They provide us with data that we can use to improve our service to you. Cookies themselves do not personally identify users, although they do identify a user's computer. What Information We Collect and How We Use It

When completing a contact form, resource download or newsletter sign up form on our website we collect the personal information you provide. If you opt-in to receive company communications when completing these forms, you will be added to our company marketing mailing list. As part of this list you will receive communications that are appropriate to your area of work including product updates, company updates, technical articles, whitepapers, notifications of industry events and any other product related information applicable to your business.

If you do not opt-in for communications when completing a form, we will still collect your personal data to enable us to process your original request, quote or general enquiry. This information will be securely stored on our customer database, so we can contact you to ensure you have all the information you require. Your data will be stored for up to 3 years in our database, when we will contact you to see if ChargePoint is still of interest to you. We don’t rent or trade email lists or contact information with other organisations or businesses.

Your information may be shared with our contracted agents and distributors in your country of business for the purpose of the information you have requested to ensure the response you receive is in a language you understand and of a timely response.

We use a third-party provider, Gold-Vision Connect, to deliver our newsletters and company/product updates. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our communications to you. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing marketing@thechargepoint.com requesting to unsubscribe.

Who Has Access to Your Information

As a matter of policy ChargePoint does not sell, rent, share or otherwise distribute any of your personal information to third parties except in certain specific circumstances. Those circumstances are as follows:

  • We receive a subpoena, court order or other legal demand for your information.
  • We believe it is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, or as otherwise required by law.
  • ChargePoint is acquired by or merged with another company. In this event ChargePoint will notify you before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
  • Some of our services allow you to make certain information public or accessible to certain individuals. If you make use of these services ChargePoint will share your information as you request.

This privacy notice was updated on 24th May 2018. If ChargePoint intends to make a change to our privacy policy, we will post a notice on this site and we will also notify you by email.
