ChargePoint Technology wins prestigious award

ChargePoint Technology are pleased to announce that they have been awarded the title of the North West’s ‘Most Promising New Business’ by the Chamber of Commerce. These awards recognise the success and achievements of businesses across a number of disciplines from international trade to innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. Having won the regional award, ChargePoint are now competing for the national title in their category as well as the chance to collect the Award for Outstanding Business Achievement, with a top prize of £25,000.

ChargePoint Technology is a manufacturing company based in Liverpool, supplying high precision containment valves to the pharmaceutical, bio-pharmaceutical and FMCG industres to protect operators when transferring potent powders, from one piece of process equipment to another.

ChargePoint sells to the world’s 50 largest pharmaceutical companies and exports over 80% of production worldwide. Since it was founded in 2009, the company has pursued an aggressive growth strategy, achieved by targeting developing markets such as China and investing in a dedicated R&D team to develop new products tailored to specific markets. This resulted in an increase in sales turnover from £2.6m in 2009 to an estimated £7m in 2011.

To support this strategy ChargePoint has seen a three-fold increase in staff and has opened its own manufacturing facility earlier this year, equipped with state of the art machining, polishing and measuring equipment. This involved substantial investment to support the current capacity requirements and future projected growth.

“Our strategy over the past few years has been ambitious. We are proud to have achieved our targets and to be given this award as recognition of the company’s success.” said Chris Eccles, managing director. “Should we achieve success at the national final, we would utilise the prize money to improve our manufacturing systems and further invest in market research activities to develop business in new geographical markets.”

The national winners will be announced on the 24th November at the awards ceremony in London where the successful companies will be given a share of the £50,000 prize fund.
