We have an exciting opportunity to join ChargePoint Technology, in the position of Field Technical Support Engineer, enhancing our AfterCare organisation.  Operating from ChargePoint’s German office, you will communicate directly with our Head Office in Liverpool, UK.  Working in partnership with our existing team of specialists, you will demonstrate a high level of hands-on mechanical competence and sound fault-finding techniques.  Taking responsibility for coordinating your own time to ensure service and support calls are prioritised and followed through to completion, most of your working week will be spent in the field at customer facilities within the DACH region, but you will also support service calls into the greater European region as required.

Main Responsibilities

 

This role presents an opportunity to provide technical support for an exciting range of products and will therefore best suit candidates seeking a varied, challenging and stimulating work experience in an expanding business in an ever-growing and important industry.

 

  • Provide scheduled preventative maintenance services to contract customers
  • Provide on-deman corrective, emergency and paid services to our customers for mechanical and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair
  • Carry out equipment refurbishment/ upgrades at customer site
  • Provide/support start up services, installation/commissioning, installation qualification, operation qualification, site acceptance test and warranty work.
  • Potential to support customer with containment and sterile testing when part of a sale
  • Provide traning to customers on equipment and maintenance operations
  • Assist customers with parts orders, consumables, repair and return of defective parts, and requests for information
  • Promote parts orders, provide recommended parts lists to clients and recommend inventory stocking levels to customers as required
  • Conduct periodic customer care visits to monitor performance and customer satisfaction
  • Communicate and share information with the AfterCare support team and Sales team
  • Communicate recommendations for improvements to products and procedures, to support the development of products and services
  • Report quality issues and file quality reports

Skills/Experience

 

We are looking to hear from candidates that are self-driven with exceptional interpersonal, communication and customer service skills, that builds a customer’s trust and satisfaction.  Being highly organised, the right candidate will be able to work independently with minimal supervision within a supportive environment.

 

Required:

 

  • Associate’s Degree from a Technical or Vocational School preferred or job experience equivalent
  • 1-3 years maintenance or field service experience with mechanical products
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics to extract necessary technical information
  • Ability to evaluate and solve problems in a logical manner
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages/ other software
  • Experience working in a mission-critical, on-call environment is desirable
  • The ability to converse at ease with customers in accurate spoken and written English and German is essential for the position.
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence

 

The successful candidate will be willing and able to travel 60-80% of the time for technical support and training purposes at short notice, and be willing to work hours including weekends, and or/holiday work, if required in exceptional cases.  We are looking for people who are committed to being flexible and enabling a quick response to the needs of the business.

Working Environment

 

Training and protective equipment will be provided to aid the requirements of the role which include working at height, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, lifting/lowering/carrying objects up to 60lbs.  The working environment will often be hot, cold, dirty, wet and noisy.
