We have a fantastic opportunity to join our growing company in the position of HR Advisor, reporting to the HR Manager you will be the first point of contact for our employees and line managers, providing HR support across the business in all aspects of the employee life cycle.

This is a generalist role where no two days are the same, but you will have exposure to all areas of HR including recruitment, management of employee relations issues, absence management, HR administration, policy review and development, HR system management, payroll and supporting the HR Manager with any project work.

This is an exciting time to join our growing business, where you will have the autonomy to manage your own time and workload with the support of the HR Manager.

Key responsibilities:

  • Owning and responding to various HR queries throughout the business, providing advice to employees at all levels on all aspects of HR policies and procedures
  • Policy review and development
  • Supporting line managers to manage ER issues including investigations, absence management, performance management, flexible working requests, disciplinaries, grievances etc.
  • Supporting the recruitment process
  • Leading the annual appraisal process and resulting training and development activities
  • Processing monthly payroll input to payroll provider
  • Providing management information and monthly HR reports
  • Maintaining employee files in accordance with GDPR requirements
  • Responsible for HR administration including, contracts, amendment letters, cycle to work applications etc.
  • Responsible for the new starter and leaver processes.
  • Maintaining the Company’s HR system and portals
  • Assist in promoting mental health/ employee wellbeing initiatives
  • Supporting the HR Manager with project work

Key requirements and skills:

  • 2-3 years relevant experience working in a similar position (Essential)
  • CIPD qualification, minimum level 3 or equivalent experience (Essential)
  • Generalist HR knowledge and experience (Essential)
  • Knowledge of GDPR (Desirable)
  • Payroll experience (Highly Desirable)
  • Preferably experience of working in a manufacturing/engineering environment
  • ER experience supporting investigations, disciplinaries, grievance and absence management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels of the business
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload
