Internal Commercial Sales Support Executive

Job Purpose

Internal Commercial Sales Support Executive

As part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will provide internal Commercial sales support activity.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to quoting, processing orders, expediting, order tracking, full order fulfilment and project sales coordination. Strong communication externally with customers & internally with production, engineering, sales and Applications & Solutions Engineering department is essential.

You will be a key source of information between customers and internal personnel to provide feedback and help secure sales & fulfil order delivery.

Key Result Areas

  1. Support pre order sales activity as the internal interface into the company by providing quotations & technical responses, working closely with the commercial & Proposal manager & supporting the external sales and Applications & Solutions Engineering departments.
  2. Maintain effective communications with internal departments, throughout order fulfilment & delivery.
  3. Maintain effective communications with colleagues & the management team.
  4. Demonstrate ability to drive continuous improvement, attend training & to develop relevant technical knowledge & skills.
  5. Reporting in a timely manner as required and manage personal time & productivity.
  6. Work within the defined policies, procedures, quality standards & protocols of the company. Remain flexible to the current & future needs of the business, undertaking any reasonable request made by Senior Management.


  1. Support incoming enquiries, tenders & quotations for standard projects with commercial manager & Applications & Solutions Engineering Dept.
  2. Preparation support of quotations for standard projects utilising the company systems.
  3. Interpret process sketches and translate this into a quotation form with support from engineering and Applications & Solutions Engineering Dept.
  4. Day to day communication & interfacing portal with internal AfterCare department, order fulfilment & project activities. Acting promptly to all enquires/orders & to maintain communication at regular intervals.
  5. Manage agreed pricing, margins & costs of standard & non-standard products according to agreed aims of the business.
  6. Liaise with Commercial & Proposal manager on payment terms / analysis of risk involved with sales project & costs/margins and approval of Terms & Conditions for proposed contracts.
  7. Support final Contract Approvals, including all necessary internal documentation, including the review & amendments to contract.
  8. Perform complete full order fulfilment process for Commercial mains equipment orders.
  9. Liaising with Engineering & production with project delivery
  10. Attend customer, contract implementation & internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties & aid business development. Monitor, report & delivery of sales orders.
  11. Support creations of client documentation and responsible for internal check and approval
  12. Plan, identify, prioritise & pursue activities, towards achieving agreed business strategy & aims.
  13. Monitor & report on activities & provide relevant management information including, project delivery / analyse.
  14. Manage projects and opportunities through the company contact activities tools & systems, & update relevant information held in these systems.

Skills and Experience

  1. Background in Engineering and numerate bias is preferable, but not essential.
  2. Experience in either technical sales support, project management, purchasing or engineering support.
  3. Experience with international payment terms such as Letter of Credit and Bank Guarantee is preferable, but not essential.
  4. Must have excellent communication skills via telephone, e-mail and quotation preparation using the company systems and Microsoft software tools.
  5. The post holder will demonstrate excellent team working and customer focus, with ability to work using own initiative.
  6. Must have excellent English skills for oral and written communication.
  7. Language skills would be a benefit.
  8. Effective listening and interpersonal skills.
  9. Time management is essential.
