We have a great opportunity to join us here at ChargePoint Technology in the new role of Senior Stores Handler.  Reporting to the Stock and Warehouse Manager, the Senior Stores Handler will take ownership of organising and coordinating the workload of the stores team within their unit, ensuring activity across the stores area runs efficiently and in line with operational expectations.  The role involves overseeing day-to-day processes, monitoring workloads, supporting training needs, and helping to drive continuous improvement.  A key part of the position is ensuring accurate documentation and effective use of the stock system, maintaining high standards of control and consistency while supporting the team to deliver strong performance.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Taking responsibility for organising the workload of the stores team within the respective unit, developing the team and driving the output.
  • Responsible for training and induction of team members and new team members as well as managing the training matrix for the team.
  • Addressing any barriers or issues as they occur and highlighting them to the relevant departments whilst expediting their close-out.
  • Reviewing Company SOPs on a regular basis and looking for potential improvements to the systems and processes and feeding back to relevant managers to aid overall efficiency.
  • Manage and maintain the company’s material and stocked product inventory including stock details and stores locations.
  • Ensure that goods inward/stock control department is well organised and controlled to sufficiently support production.
  • Ensure incoming products are receipted, inspected where required and managed appropriately in accordance with company procedures and industry best practice.
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of the stock management system, ensuring all stock is correctly located and/or booked out before leaving stores.
  • Ensure works orders are correct and fully completed and that all stock has been allocated to the job correctly.
  • Lead the implementation of perpetual stock counting/inventory accuracy checks.
  • Lead, participate and support in planned stock takes.
  • Ensure that the stores (and surrounding areas) are clean and tidy.
  • Seek to implement improvements where opportunities arise.
  • Ensure effective, efficient and safe running of the stores area.
  • Ensure that H&S policy and procedures are adhered, highlighting and addressing any areas of concern, including preliminary investigations with the support of the HSEF Manager.

 

You should be confident in taking ownership of the workload in your area, ensuring tasks are prioritised effectively and completed to a high standard.  You will have the communication skills to motivate and guide the team, setting clear expectations, supporting colleagues and fostering a positive, collaborative working environment.  Strong organisational skills, attention to details and a methodical approach are essential for maintaining accurate stock control and smooth workflow.  The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, solutions-focused with the ability to identify issues early, resolve problems efficiently and keep their area running smoothly.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar position, managing a team or workload in a stores/warehouse environment
  • Experience working with an MRP system.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

 

Working Hours:

37.5 hours per week

Monday to Friday, starting between 8am/9am and finishing between 4pm/5pm, working 7.5 hours per day.
