Celebrating International Women’s Day 2026

9 March, 2026 | ChargePoint Technology

To celebrate International Women’s Day 2026, we invited colleagues to share reflections on their careers, inspiration, and what the day means to them.

International Women’s Day provides an opportunity to celebrate the contributions and achievements of women across our organisation, and to reflect on the role we all play in creating a supportive and inclusive workplace.

What does International Women's Day mean to you?

Emma Stoddart, Chief Financial Officer

To me, this day is about everyone celebrating positive changes that have occurred in the past to address inequality, to ensure that this remains the case, and that it improves further – for all our lovely mothers, daughters, wives, sisters, and friends.

Laura Langley, Internal Commercial Sales Support Executive

Personally, I believe International Women’s Day is about recognising women’s achievements across the world! It is about celebrating women and empowering one another to continue to fight for equality. I think it serves as a reminder that girls are still underestimated in many situations, but are more knowledgeable and determined than ever.

Diana Rosu, Facilities Assistant

International Women’s Day is about celebrating all women, past and present, who have worked hard to make a difference. From the suffragettes to our mums, teachers, role models, and every woman still pushing for equality today.

What advice would you give to women considering a career in pharma or engineering?

Amy Jones, HR Manager

I would encourage any woman thinking about a career in pharma or engineering to go for it with confidence.  There may be fewer women in these sectors but your perspective is needed and wanted.  Choosing companies that genuinely value diversity will help you to build a rewarding career and bring a much-needed, under-represented viewpoint to these sectors, helping to drive equality forward.

What do you enjoy most about working in the pharma manufacturing industry?

Zuzana Mihalikova, Marketing Specialist, Product and Channel Enablement

Working in the pharma manufacturing industry offers an energising combination of pace, variety, and purpose. Each project introduces new challenges and opportunities, creating a dynamic environment where learning is constant. Collaboration with industry specialists, both internal and external, adds immense value, as their expertise elevates every discussion and broadens understanding. Coupled with the sector’s cutting-edge technology, the work becomes not only intellectually stimulating but genuinely inspiring.

Jaslyn Oh Meng Ning, Undergraduate Design Engineer

As a female Undergraduate Project Engineer in pharmaceutical manufacturing, what I enjoy most is being part of an environment where I can continuously learn and apply engineering principles in real projects. Working in a field that is often perceived as male-dominated, motivates me to grow, build confidence, and prove to myself that I belong in technical spaces. I value the opportunity to collaborate with different departments, understand complex processes, and contribute to discussions where my ideas are respected.

Is there a woman (public figure or personal connection) who has inspired you?

Silvia Chicus, AfterMarket Sales Support

The public figure who inspires me is Maia Sandu, the first female President of Moldova, the country where I am from. She inspires me with her courage, leadership, intelligence, integrity, values, honesty, career achievements, and modesty. Her journey from a small village to the highest office in Moldova is a powerful narrative of how one woman’s unwavering principles can challenge an entire political establishment.

Is there a book, podcast, or person who has shaped your thinking on Women's empowerment?

Megan Cummins, Digital Marketing Executive

Growing up, my dad was actually my biggest influence! I’ve always been interested in hobbies and spaces that are perceived as male-dominated, especially in the early 90’s, he always encouraged me to just go for it and never feel like I couldn’t do things regardless of the perceived gender ratio in the space, usually where I was the only girl! As a result, I never once felt I couldn’t participate as a woman, something that has stayed with me my entire life.

I’d like to pass that belief on to any young women who may think twice about entering what could be perceived as a male-dominated space, just go for it, hold your head up, never doubt your ability, because you’re amazing.

Gahana Kengeri Jayakumar, AfterMarket Sales Executive

One initiative that has strongly influenced my perspective on women’s empowerment is Katalyst India, an award-winning NGO dedicated to supporting young women from underserved communities to pursue leadership careers, particularly in STEM fields.

I was fortunate to be a part of the Katalyst programme, and the mentorship, structured training, and industry exposure I received through it, played a very important role in shaping my career. The programme provides extensive development through leadership training, professional mentoring, internships, and exposure to corporate environments. These opportunities helped build my confidence and prepared me to step into the professional world with the right skills and mindset.

Thanks to all who have shared their thoughts on International Women’s Day!

We are proud to foster an inclusive workplace where everyone has the opportunity to grow and build a long-term career with ongoing support and development.
