The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for the precise set up and operation of advanced turn/mill machining centres, with a particular focus on a Mazak Integrex machine.  The role requires a high level of technical competence, strong attention to detail and the ability to work methodically within a precision engineering environment.  The Manufacturing Technician will contribute to the production of high-quality components in stainless steel and heat-resistant super alloys, ensuring all work meets stringent quality and tolerance requirements.  The role requires the Manufacturing Technician to be a team player who can work independently, managing their own workload effectively and communicate clearly across the department and wider business.   

 

Key Competencies

  • Set up and operation of Mazak Integrex machine tools 
  • Produce components to fine tolerances using hard gauging and CMM equipment to verify product quality 
  • Machine parts in stainless steels and heat-resistant super alloys to required specifications 
  • Apply a strong understanding of ISO programming to support efficient and accurate machining processes  
  • Interpret and work from technical drawings, specifications and supporting documentation.  
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment in line with Company Standards  
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail  
  • Strong organisational and time management skills  
  • Thorough and methodical approach  
  • Effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively within a team

Skills & Experience

  • Time-served with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in setting and operating in a precision manufacturing environment  
  • Knowledge of Mazatrol Smooth control  
  • Experience of twin turret machining  
  • Good knowledge of setting and operating multi-axis CNC turn/mill machining centres  
  • Experience in setting and operating of twin spindle machines  
  • Capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings and documentation
