Celebrating International Day of Charity 2024: Supporting the South Liverpool Foodbank

International Day of Charity 2024 is observed annually each September. It was established by the United Nations in 2012 to raise awareness about the importance of charity and to encourage people around the world to get involved in charitable activities.

This year, we would like to celebrate the work being done by The South Liverpool Foodbank, who provide nutritionally balanced emergency food to those in need and offers vital support to local people referred during times of crisis. They’re part of a nationwide network of foodbanks supported by The Trussell Trust, working to make a real difference in our local communities to tackle food poverty and hunger.

Recently, our team had the privilege of volunteering at the foodbank, donating food collected by the wider team. It was a rewarding experience to see firsthand the impact that our collective efforts can make.
